As the Head of Software Engineering at Axpo, you will be the enabler across multiple software engineering teams. You will contribute your experience and know-how hands-on and take the role of a coach to improve different products and enable individual engineers and teams. The products you develop together with the teams will support our employees, external partners, and customers in meeting the challenges of the energy transition. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for building and operating data-driven digital products and reusable platform components.
What you will do:
- Prototype and develop working applications across the entire spectrum: from databases to APIs and frontends
- Collaborate with different product teams to improve our software products
- Coach individual engineers and strengthen our software engineering community
- Identify issues in our software products and enable the teams step by step so they can improve their products
- Establish best practices and standards in software engineering on a group-wide basis
- Act as an enabler
What you bring & who you are:
- 5+ years of working experience in software engineering
- Hands-on experience throughout the whole architecture of web applications using different technologies such as databases, server- and client-side web frameworks such as Angular, React,
- FastAPI, ASP .NET Core and similar
- Familiar with auth standards like OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
- Experience working in a cloud-based DevOps environment considering git, CI/CD, testing, packaging, containerizing, IaC tools like terraform, staging etc.
- Strong communication skills and ability to quickly adapt to other developers’ situations to coach and support them
- Ability to understand the overall architecture and technologies of different products to strengthen cross-team collaboration and know-how exchange
- Fluent in English or German
